Upson County Criminal Docket Searches
The county's Superior Clerk quick links include a Criminal / Civil Search, though the link can loop through redirects instead of opening a working form. A broken link is not a missing case. Georgia Courts also lists Upson Superior in its E-Access directory, which points to a provider and requires an account. It is a route, not a results page.
Bring a case number if you have one. Otherwise, gather the party's full name, a rough filing or hearing date, and the court involved. A calendar can confirm a setting. It is still not the full docket.
- Try the county Criminal / Civil Search and note whether its provider opens.
- Use E-Access to identify the current Upson Superior provider.
- Check official calendars when the need is a hearing date.
- Call or visit Teresa Meier's Clerk office when the provider fails.
- Request the docket, disposition, order, or certified copy by its exact name.
Visit the counter at 1185 Hwy 19 South, Thomaston, GA 30286, or mail your request to P.O. Box 469, Thomaston, GA 30286. Call the Clerk at 706-538-2343. Public hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Upson Criminal Calendar Ladder
Upson County posts jury, probation-revocation, motion, bond, arraignment, and trial-order material on its official calendar hub. Each document answers one narrow date question. None gives the whole case history. Want an outcome? Keep going past the calendar. Check later docket entries and the signed order.
The criminal jury calendar lists the court, judge, starting week, time, courtroom, calendar call, and itemized rows. A case on that list was set for trial. It does not tell you the trial happened or how it ended.
Document ladder: calendar setting › trial order › docket history › disposition or judgment › certified copy, if needed.
Note: A missing later Upson County calendar row is not proof that the criminal case ended.
Criminal Dockets: What They Show
An Upson County criminal docket shows the procedural path; a calendar shows only a scheduled slice. The fields here draw on the county's own records and the jury-calendar layout. What appears depends on the case and its access status.
| Case number | The jury sample uses a pattern like YYR####, sometimes with a suffix. |
|---|---|
| Charge or count | Count and charge text may appear, but a charge is not a conviction. |
| Setting | Arraignment, motion, bond, calendar call, revocation, or jury trial may be listed. |
| Court details | Date, time, judge initials, and courtroom identify the scheduled event. |
| Case events | Plea, order, judgment, disposition, sentence, or appeal data may appear on the full docket. |
Calendars can list attorney and bond fields. A bond amount is not a judgment. A calendar call is not a finding of guilt. Confirm the later order or disposition with the Clerk.
Upson Criminal Calendar Anatomy
The Upson Superior Court page places the county in the Griffin Judicial Circuit. That official view helps separate Superior Court records from lower-court warrant screens.

Upson criminal calendars carry initials like BDC, BJM, and WFS. The county publishes no legend with its master calendar, so ask staff about any unclear code. The Magistrate ordinance search offers county, offense-date, court-date, case-number, and citation-number fields.

Upson does not appear on the participating-county list dated August 2026. Ask the local Magistrate office rather than assuming the form covers Upson County.
Criminal Case Stages on the Docket
Each Upson County criminal case follows the path that fits its charge and court. Some begin with a warrant and first appearance in Magistrate Court. Those then move up to Superior Court. Others involve an accusation, indictment, motion, plea, trial, sentencing, or revocation. Docket entries report what was filed or scheduled. They do not replace the signed order.
Docket flow: Filing › Arraignment › Pretrial › Plea or Trial › Disposition › Sentencing.
- Setting
- A scheduled event, not the final result.
- Disposition
- The recorded outcome of a charge or case.
- Calendar call
- A session used to check readiness and scheduling.
- Remittitur
- The formal return of an appellate decision to the lower court.
For a final result, ask for the disposition or final order. A trial list alone cannot answer that.
Upson Warrants and First Appearances
Per the Upson Magistrate guidelines, Magistrate Court approves warrants and handles first appearances along with preliminary-hearing scheduling. First appearance generally happens within 48 hours after arrest, or within 72 hours when an active warrant is involved. That event is not a Superior Court disposition.

This connects the lower-court start to the wider criminal docket path. The separate Magistrate schedule gives session patterns and emergency-warrant details. The public warrant form provides county, name, warrant-number, offense-date, and issued-date fields.

Upson is not among the counties the selector covers. A warrant listing is not proof of guilt. Confirm status with Upson Magistrate Court.
Upson County Criminal Docket Courts
Superior Court of Upson County holds the broad criminal docket. Lower courts keep their own records, so the right office depends on the event.
| Court | Role | Access point |
|---|---|---|
| Superior | Broad criminal cases, trials, motions, orders, dispositions | Teresa Meier, Clerk |
| Magistrate | Warrants, first appearances, preliminary hearings | 706-647-6891 |
| Probate | County traffic outside Thomaston | 706-647-7015 |
| Municipal | City ordinance and municipal matters | City court staff |
| Juvenile | Juvenile matters under restricted rules | 706-647-0028 |
The Magistrate contact page names Hannah E. Arnette as Chief Magistrate and gives the Justice Center address.

This office is the local fallback for warrant and first-appearance questions. Matters like those do not belong at the Superior Clerk counter.
Upson Docket Status Is Not Outcome
A setting, plea, order, judgment, and disposition answer different questions. A calendar tells when a matter was expected in court. A docket shows filings and event history. The signed order controls the ruling. The disposition records the outcome. Mixing those sources invites false conclusions.
If a case shows on an Upson County jury list, check the later docket. Did trial proceed, reset, end by plea, or produce an order? For a definitive record, request certification from the clerk who keeps the original. Upson publishes no official county-only criminal caseload export. So do not count PDF rows as caseload data.
Access Rules for Criminal Dockets
Plenty of adult criminal docket entries are public, though access has its limits. Georgia rules shield personal identifiers and allow restriction or sealing where the law permits. Juvenile files sit behind a stricter wall. And a blank online result proves nothing. It cannot show that a record was sealed, erased, or never there at all.
Key access rules:
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 governs court-record access and sealing procedures.
Rule 36.17 in the same rules addresses protected personal identifiers in filed material.
Georgia Open Records Act guidance explains requests for existing public records, subject to exemptions.
Put any written request in narrow terms. Name the court, the case or date range, the record type, and your preferred format. The office has no duty to build a new summary for you. Retrieval and copy charges can apply, so confirm the cost before you commit.
Upson County Grand Jury Docket
One label on the 2026 master calendar is UPSON GJ (C). That code marks a grand-jury calendar event. It does not open confidential grand-jury work to inspection. And it never says a particular person was indicted. For public confirmation, start with a filed court record you can actually access.
An Upson County criminal docket can skip from an early Magistrate event to a later Superior filing. That gap can look odd. Ask the Superior Clerk which public accusation, indictment, or docket entry is available. Don't bridge the gap with guesswork. The calendar code shows only one thing: a grand-jury event was scheduled somewhere in the county system.
